Planning notebook and learning materials

Process

How it works

Three clear stages from enrollment to informed next steps. Below is the operational detail most schools bury in PDF attachments—we put it up front so you can decide calmly.

  1. 1

    Join a course

You tell us your goals, schedule, and prior experience. We recommend a cohort or private track that fits.

If you are unsure which level to pick, we suggest a short portfolio-free conversation about your practice habits. There is no obligation to enroll afterward.

    • 15-minute fit call or email triage (your choice)
    • Syllabus PDF + calendar hold before invoice
    • Clear refund window repeated in writing
  2. 2

    Learn & practice

Attend lessons, complete weekly assignments, and upload or bring pages for structured feedback.

Feedback highlights one or two priorities per submission so you know what to fix before moving on. Between classes, expect roughly 3–6 hours of practice for most tracks (varies by learner).

    • Demo blocks recorded for review (when cohort opts in)
    • Markup on PDF or layered files—your workflow, documented
    • Optional buddy pairing for accountability
  3. 3

    Publishing guidance

When your work is ready, we walk through realistic submission or self-publishing steps.

We explain typical timelines, file specs, and how to interpret revision requests. For contracts or tax questions, we refer you to qualified professionals.

    • Live doc review of cover letter + sample pages
    • Export presets tested against a print shop template
    • Referral list for legal/accounting when needed

Need a custom timeline?

Corporate workshops and private mentorship blocks are quoted separately. Mention it in your enquiry—we will not upsell you in the first reply.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need fluent Japanese?
Core instruction is offered in Japanese with English support materials for selected cohorts. Ask when you enquire so we can confirm the upcoming schedule.
Are materials included?
Basic paper and classroom pencils are provided for in-studio basics lessons. Digital artists should bring their own tablet or laptop; we publish recommended software settings before day one.
Can I switch tracks mid-way?
If your skills grow faster or slower than expected, we discuss transfers between cohorts when seats allow. Administrative fees may apply depending on timing.
How do I submit homework?
Most cohorts use a private drive folder or classroom LMS link. File naming conventions are shared on day one so instructors can batch feedback.
What if I miss a class?
We provide written summaries and, when available, short recap clips. Repeated absences may slow progress; we check in proactively if you go quiet.
